The « Cayolar « Country House is situated next to the foothills of the Pyrenees. Not isolated, but with a feel of total privacy, with 2389m2 of land. The Pyrenees facing house provides stunning views.
The house was built with the stones from the local river, carefully selected by hand of the current owners, to keep the colour scheme and to be earthquake resistant. The wood used throughout the house is oak. The roof consists of studded slates, fabricated and laid by local artisans. The entrance door, oak, is an original door from the château d'Aramits. The interior floor is authentic terracotta, recovered from a Landaise home. The handmade oak staircase beautifully blends in with the chestnut floor.
Living accommodation is provided over two floors and includes a spacious salon diner with fireplace, and an office space. The kitchen is fitted and fully equipped. There are three bedrooms on the first floor and a family bathroom. The lower ground floor, at the same level as the garage, has a guest bedroom and a small shower room. The garage can accommodate two cars and has a utility space, as well as storage possibilities.
The country house is closely situated to Oloron-Sainte-Marie, with easy access to all amenities, shops, doctors, schools, bars and restaurants. The village has its own bakery and bar-restaurant. Nearby activities include the adventure park, ideal for families, cycling, white water rafting, canoeing, horse riding, hiking, skiing and kayaking.
