A thousand years of history to discover:
The main building dates back to the late 17th century, as confirmed by its original timber frame. In the early 19th century, Ernest-Philippe Foucher, a Parisian notary and later mayor of Paris’s 9th arrondissement, gave it its château appearance. Known locally as the “Comte Foucher de Saint Faron,” he added a 17th-century-style tower and the chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes de Saint-Faron, consecrated in 1884 following the “miracle of Saint-Faron.”
Time has left visible marks: two cannonballs fired in 1814, during the retreat from the Campaign of France, are still lodged in the north façade. The château was also requisitioned by the German army in 1914, during the Battle of the Marne.
This living, well-maintained château offers many possibilities: main or second home, guest house... A property full of character, waiting to be discovered. Walk through the gates, stroll through the grounds, push open the chapel door: the Château de Saint-Faron will win you over.
