This impressive Historic Chateau is a rare find ! The Chateau sits in exquisite landscaped grounds of 3.7 acres (1.5 hectares) with its former barn, now converted into two independent Guest Cottages and a triple Garage; a residential Pool House; a former Pigeonnier and an Ancient Forge.

Historically the chateau, dating back to circa 1784, was a great seigniorial property being initially occupied by Joseph de Casemajor, the Baron d’ Oneix and the last Seigneur of its village. The building was classified as a "Demeure de Notable” on the Inventaire Général du Patrimoine Culturel in 1972.  The current owners bought the property some nineteen years ago and immediately started comprehensive renovations, which lasted from 2001 and 2004. They sourced experienced artisans using traditional skills to ensure that the authenticity of this historic building was preserved.

A sweeping driveway leads up through the formal gardens to the front of the Chateau where there are wide original stone steps leading from the gardens to its main entrance.  The original staircase dominates the large entrance hall. To the right of the hall is a dining kitchen with bespoke fitted cabinetry and granite worktops; period features such as its original fireplace, bread oven, stone evier and its period height windows create a lovely authentic feel.  Double doors from the kitchen then lead into a conservatory. To the left of the hall is a large dining room with period height windows and a fireplace.  Leading from the dining room is the summer salon with its wood burning stove set into a stone fireplace, and triple aspect French doors leading into the rear gardens.  Leading along the main façade from the dining room is the former winery now converted into a magnificent drawing room with double height vaulted ceiling and fireplace. A guest cloakroom, utility and pantry complete the ground floor.

The first floor offers a Master suite with a large roof terrace, en-suite bathroom and fitted wardrobes. The Guest suite offers a further two double bedrooms and a shower room.  The original staircase rises to the attic on the second floor, which has been fully insulated and boarded and could be converted easily into two further suites.

The former Barn has been converted into two beautifully appointed Guest Cottages each with an open plan living room and kitchen, two double bedrooms and a family bathroom.  In the centre of the barn, dividing these two cottages is a triple garage with toilet facilities.

The rear gardens lead into a block of woodland with woodland paths where one can escape the midday sun.  The heated, saltwater Swimming Pool has been sympathetically landscaped to blend asthetically into the rear garden with a gated wall to the rear.  A generous sized covered terrace offers ample space for a large table and comfortable seating at the poolside, where there is also a solar-heated shower.  The Pool House offers a third Guest Cottage with an open plan living room with fireplace and kitchen facilities; a double bedroom and a large shower room.

An ancient Forge completes the ensemble and offers a wonderful opportunity to create further accommodation for guests or resident guardians.

Situated in a small hamlet just 10 minutes from two popular market towns and 30 minutes from the beautiful historic city of Pau.  This property also benefits from easy access onto the A65 connecting to Pau to the south and Bordeaux to the north, as well as linking onto the A64 to Biarritz and the Atlantic coast.  Pau airport 30 minutes; Lourdes / Tarbes airport 40 minutes; Toulouse and Bordeaux airports under 2 hours drive.
